I designed two connected products: a mobile app with perks for customers and a B2B SaaS platform where shop owners manage the app’s content, assortment and product data. ### Target audience Owners of small retailers, convenience stores and local grocery shops. ### My role As product designer and Product Owner, I was responsible for the design system, the mobile app and the web platform. I also owned the product roadmap, user research and feature prioritisation. ![Order flow in the Olive app](https://jancikrle.cz/_astro/olive-order-v2.CUv5GAIx_Zbt78V.webp) 02 ## Process and iterations ### The mobile app The biggest challenge of an app for local shops is getting people to download and use it. Beyond the catalogue and checkout, I designed marketing modules: cart rules, app-only deals, discount codes, a referral programme, cashback and a credit system. Users must see at a glance how much they saved and why ordering in the app pays off. ### Two admin interfaces This was not one shop’s e-commerce site but a SaaS platform. So I designed two connected interfaces: one for shops and one for Olive’s administrators. Data are linked through templates and EAN codes, so shop owners do not have to update global products by hand. Each role sees only what it needs. ### A design system as the foundation The project rests on two design systems, one for the web admin and one for the mobile apps. The mobile system is white-label, so it adapts quickly to each shop’s brand. The pilot confirmed it: the admin and order handling are intuitive and staff need no complicated training. ### Pilot: Potraviny u Chalupů The average value of the first app orders was CZK 300 higher than an average purchase in the physical shop.
